  • Can I resize a Linux Ubuntu Window
    ,

I'll wait for Mark Hamblin to speak for himself, but I can assure you, I only have one account on the forums. And I am not using CB with Linux, although I do like and use both separately.
  • Can I resize a Linux Ubuntu Window

    Hey Gleb,

Somehow I received an email notification saying:

    Hello Mark,

Gleb replied to you in "Can I resize a Linux Ubuntu Window":

Not sure why but this is the second time now.

    Thanks!
  • Increase upload speed
Thanks for the details David. It's been awhile since I played with the replication functionality.
  • Increase upload speed
Another option is to upload the data to a bucket in an availability zone much closer to you and then have the bucket replicate to the Oregon one. I think you can have the replication move it to glacier but i'm not 100% about that. Then you can either blow away the local bucket after you seed the data and then upload directly to the Oregon bucket, or you can keep it as is.
  • Problem downloading files in S3 that have moved to Glacier
Thanks for letting me know Sergey. Is there a changelog somewhere?
  • Problem downloading files in S3 that have moved to Glacier
Well I uninstalled 5.8.0.20 and then installed 5.2.0.14 and was able to copy the files right away. Not sure what the deal is there. Anyone else having problems copying out of glacier with 5.8.0.20?

    Thanks,

    Mark
  • Copying directly from AWS S3 to Wasabi?
Thanks for the quick reply Matt!
  • Files uploaded to S3 using compression are not accessible by free version?

    Matt,

Thanks for that. Is there any functionality in the pro version to decompress the files but leave them in S3 so that they're ok to be downloaded by the free version later?

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to resolve the issue so that those staff who have the free version can still download/view the files. I'd prefer to not have to blow away the existing files and re-upload without compression on.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Thanks for the answers guys. Is there a way to decompress the files in S3 with the pro version without deleting them and re-uploading them?
  • VM backup has started failing on one VM
Well the backup was successful yesterday. Not sure if it will continue that way or not but for now it looks like the sfc /scannow worked. That's twice in 15 years that sfc /scannow worked for me now!
  • VM backup has started failing on one VM
Thanks for the reply and the links Matt. I ran a sfc /scannow and that found and repaired some corruption so we'll see if that helps. I also ran a chkdsk and it came up clean. I would think that if there was a hardware issue, some of the other VMs would have issues as well as they're all on the one datastore but who knows. I know that if I reboot the VM, it will succeed on the backup for the next run but then it will fail after that.

    Thanks again,

I still don't see that option in the menu (see screenshot). And I double checked that Unattended Access is checked on the remote system. Using version 1.6.2.38 on both remote and local systems.

    Thanks,

Ahh ok. That makes sense. I like how you guys are thinking about the user interface from both the remote side and the local side.

    Thanks,

  • Help us choose the next big feature
    ,

How many computers will be remembered in that screen you showed? Is there an easy way of having the program remember up to a 100 or more systems?

We're currently using logmein but are looking for an alternative due to the pricing changes. We've enjoyed using CB explorer and CB backup so we were very happy to find that CB is working on a remote access app.

    Thanks for all that Harry.

With 2. How about just disabling the mouse and if they hit any key on the keyboard they get it back? I've not yet had a problem with the user being on the keyboard, it's just the mouse. I think they treat it like a TV remote control and just can't give it up sometimes, haha.

With number 3. That might work for me, I didn't realize that was the functionality. I'll have to check that out. Worst case scenario, I can lock the system myself before getting out of it.

I've been using the Unattended Access functionality and didn't notice the botton. I did notice I was asked if I wanted to forward certain keystrokes (like windows key and E) but it didn't forward the ctrl-alt-del.

    Thanks again,

    Mark
